....thats our theme on Sunday Postcard Art this week. I used a couple of Sheena Douglass stamps on mine, a lovely arches stamp and a really useful ivy corner and combined with a little handrawn figure coloured with promarkers. The background of the card was coloured completely with distress inks.

Summer Solstice....
.....is our theme this week on SPA. Couldn't think of any stamps I'd got that I could use so I grabbed a pencil and some promarkers and set to work at drawing and colouring my entry for this week and a couple of hours later here's what I had come up with.......
...did a bit of googling and came up with some pagan symbology and flowers connected to the summer solstice and simply combined them to create the above.

There are always flowers......
....for those who want to see them - Henri Matisse
I love that quote and it seemed the perfect thing to put on this oval hanging I made over the weekend. The base is a wooden and plaque which I covered in gesso and then sponged on various different colours of acrylic paint and distress paint, whilst it was still damp I spritzed with water and blotted with another piece of sponge to remove some of the paint to give a ditressed look. Added some stamping then, crackle stamp and foliage (Sheena Douglass), to give a little more interest. After that i made a variety of flowers with the Tim Holtz 'Tattered Florals' die and coloured with Dylusions spray inks, Cosmic Shimmer sprays and some Radiant Rains which I sponged on.......result lovely bright shimmery flowers and bright orange hands!!!!! Lots of fun though :)
Thought I'd enter this in this weeks Take a Word challenge where the theme is Botanical. Also in Country View Crafts June challenge where the theme is die cuts

All things Masculine......
......is our theme this week over on Sunday Postcard Art, as it's Fathers Day here in the UK we thought it would be the perfect time to celebrate all things male! Actually managed to do two postcards this week....(really will have to lie down in a darkened room after such exhausting activity!).....the first is very vintage in feel. Background is a mixture of distress and spray inks, then I've used some old BLine stamps I've had for years for the car ads and the handsome young gentlemen is actually a cut out photo of my great uncle Bill who was born in 1899. Added a little extra stamping and embossing around the edges.
I've used a digi stamp for the main image on my second postcard and along with some conventional stamping on a lovely shimmery background. Took the photo with flash to try and capture some of the shimmer (cosmic shimmer sprays). The digi stamp is from The Octopode Factory.
Well Happy Fathers Day to all dads out there :) One more quick pic before I go, thought I'd better make a quick Fathers Day card for my own Dad.......had to be along conventional lines so dug out some images of Wellington produced by DoCraft and put together this little quickie.......

A couple of cakes and a couple of tags.....
....well almost the end of the first week of my two week holiday from my full time job but not a complete break from work because we had a couple of cakes on this week.......
all work is no fun though so have to have a bit of playtime.......so here's a couple of tags. One I must admit I made 2 or 3 weeks ago but the other one is a new creation. Both made using Sheena Douglass stamps of which I'm developing quite a collection! Both of them have shimmery backgrounds as they are made using a mixture of distress inks and mica sprays, unfortunately the shimmer doesn't show up in the photos......

New blog, first post.......
.....well here's the first post of my new blog. I spent this last weekend with my friend Mandy and we had great fun altering a few bits and pieces ...... and getting very inky in the process! Lol! Haven't taken photos of everything but did take couple of snaps (no pun intended) of a mousetrap that I altered.
Removed the spikey bit first and glued the base down, then painted with gesso. Once that was dry I used a variety of distress paint, spritzers and glitter paste. The flowers are made using the Tim Holtz 'tattered floral' die and were then spritzed with mica sprays before being glued in place.
