.....perfect for Valentines, Anniversaries or Weddings. Love these hearts and thought it would make the perfect base for my first play with Tim Holtz's new Jumbo Tattered Floral die. Full details on the Country View Crafts blog.

Play time!
For my last piece for this month for Creative Expressions I've made a small button jar by altering/decorating a little jam jar. This was just a couple of hours playing whilst watching a bit of TV so apologies that there are no photo's of various steps.
I started with a plain jam jar and painted it with some Antique Linen Distress paint. The dressforms were stamped onto tissue, coloured with markers and cut out. Also stamped some text onto some tissue. Once the paint was dry I glued bits of the text and the cut out dressforms onto the jar using Mod Podge. Then using gold embossing powder I added some embossed texture. I started by using a stamp but then didn't really like it so just smeared bits of embossing ink on with my fingers and sprinkled with powder......told you I was playing! Then out came the glue gun and some buttons which got glued in a few places on the jar and all over the lid. Now I have a feeling that I might actually paint over all the buttons with more Antique Linen paint because the more I look at it the more I'm liking that idea but for the moment it's staying as is! :)

A second piece for Country View Crafts .....
.....Monochromatic challenge.
I used a previously made gelli plate print as the background for this card and then simply stamped some butterflies and a sentiment in similar shades of blue and stuck everything together......a real quick and simple one!
Thanks for stopping by :)

Well it's Monday so it must be.....
.....time for the 4 day deal on Create and Craft featuring Sheena's lovely new embossing folders. They coordinate with some of her previously released stamp sets and are a lot of fun to play with. Here's a little peek at one of the samples I've made using one of the smaller folders.....
Don't forget to tune in and watch some of Sheena's demonstrations and to see some more cards from the rest of the Inkoids.

Whoops......
.....a week's gone past since my last post.......where the heck does time go???
Anyway here's a simple little number that would make a great birthday card for any sewers in your family.
Simply stamp one of the dressforms from the Antique Dressform set onto some patterned paper (this is just a bit I had in my box, no idea where it's from) and stamp one of the sentiments onto another piece. Ink the edges and mat onto some white card. Add these onto a piece of Kraft card that has been randomly stamped with the Fern background stamp using some distress ink. Finish with some die cut flowers and swirls.

A little birthday tag.......
.......using the Basketweave Purse Stamp from Creative Expressions. I cut the tag from some cream card and then added some shading and colour using Tea Dye, Brushed Corduroy and Black Soot Distress ink, then I added a little extra interest by using the Alpha Writing and Swirl background stamps. The Bag was stamped onto some more ivory card and cut out and then I coloured it with the same colours of Distress Ink. Using a Spellbinders die I cut and made some flowers as embellishments.

Some Antique Dressform stamps.....
....from Creative Expressions make up part of our monthly DT package to play with for January. Also got some handbag stamps but more of those later in the month. For this week I've used four of the Dress Form Stamps to create a vintage feel sewing themed card. Stamp four of the dress forms onto some blue card and then shade the edges with distress ink and add some stamped stitching ( Sam Poole's Vintage Sewing)....
Layer up onto Kraft card and more pale blue card. Stamp a couple of tape measures (Vintage Sewing) and attach to base and side of main image, then embellish with a Zipper Rose, bow, some buttons and some pearl headed pins.......add a little stamped sentiment and you're finished! :)
Thanks for looking, see you again next week for some more Creative Expressions fun :)

Happy New Year!
First I would like to wish everyone all the best for the coming year, I hope it proves to be a happy and peaceful one for you.
January's theme for the challenge over on Country View Crafts is monochromatic so I thought I'd send you my good wishes in the form of a New Year card in soft shades of creamy brown. Lots of Antique Linen distress paint here and die cutting.......
Started off by running a piece of card through my Big Shot along with a That Special Touch brickwork mask, then I brushed some Antique Linen Distress Paint over the top, followed by a little distressing with some Brushed Corduroy Distress Paint. Added a die cut clock front (Tim Holtz weathered clock face), then made a large flower using the Tattered Florals die and a few leave with the Spellbinders foliage set. Then finished it with a little hand cut and stamped banner.
All the best for 2014,
Donna xxx
